All stakeholders of the Journal of Urban Environmental Management, including authors, reviewers, members of the editorial board, the editor-in-chief, the publisher, and the editorial staff, are committed to adhering to the ethical principles outlined in this statement. These principles are based on the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and aim to ensure scientific quality, transparency, and fairness throughout the publication process.
The journal is committed to respecting the intellectual property rights of authors and preventing any unauthorized use or disclosure of submitted content. Author information is accurately recorded and securely maintained, and manuscripts will not be shared with any unrelated parties prior to publication. All submitted manuscripts undergo a Single Blind Peer Review process, meaning that reviewers are aware of the authors’ identities while the authors remain unaware of the reviewers’ identities. This approach ensures scientific integrity, impartiality, and fairness in the evaluation process.
Confidentiality of author and reviewer information is strictly maintained. Access to such information is limited exclusively to authorized journal personnel. All publication processes are conducted with honesty, transparency, and adherence to professional ethics. In cases of any detected misconduct or errors, appropriate corrective actions will be implemented in accordance with COPE guidelines.
The publisher is responsible for ensuring the integrity and transparency of the entire publication process, preventing any potential misuse, and implementing necessary corrections when errors are identified. The editor-in-chief is responsible for making decisions based solely on the scientific merit and originality of the submissions, while maintaining impartiality and fairness. The editor-in-chief also ensures that misleading or incorrect content is not published and that necessary revisions are requested from authors when required.
Reviewers are obliged to conduct an accurate, unbiased, and timely evaluation of manuscripts. They must provide constructive, evidence-based feedback and maintain the confidentiality of all manuscript content. Reviewers must not use the information for personal advantage and are required to disclose any conflicts of interest.
Authors are required to submit original and scientifically sound work. They must avoid simultaneous submission of manuscripts to other journals, correctly cite all referenced works, and report data and findings truthfully without manipulation. Authors should follow scientific writing standards, disclose any potential conflicts of interest, and submit all required forms and declarations. The corresponding author is required to provide an ORCID ID, while it is recommended for other authors.
This journal strictly adheres to the COPE Code of Conduct and the Executive Bylaw on the Prevention and Control of Academic Misconduct. Furthermore, all manuscripts undergo plagiarism detection and similarity checks using recognized software before entering the peer review process to ensure originality and prevent academic dishonesty.
